The Best Way to Revise for A-Level Maths

A-Level maths is a doing subject. You can re-read your notes for hours and still walk into the exam unable to answer a single question. Active revision is the only thing that works.

Revise by solving, not reading

For each topic, work through problems from easy to exam-standard. If you get stuck, learn the step you missed, then redo the whole question from scratch.

Interleave your topics

Don't revise pure, then mechanics, then stats in isolation. Mix them. Exams jump between topics, so your practice should too.

Use past papers as diagnostics

Every past paper tells you exactly what to revise next. Mark honestly, list the topics you lost marks on, and target those first.

Space it out

Six 40-minute sessions across a week beat one six-hour cram. Memory forms in the gaps between study, not during marathon sessions.
